Habits are routines that we tend to ?follow,?without being told or chased. For example, washing ?before going to bed and after getting up, washing hands before eating, or nail-biting. There are two types of habits: good habits and bad habits.
We are all supposed to have ?good habits and?try to?change?or eliminate any?bad habits. Sometimes, however,?it seems hard to do so. Although we are very clear that there are some bad habits we?should try to eliminate?,?it can be difficult to remove an acquired habit, especially one we have had for some time.?we cannot sensibly remember not to indulge in the bad habits.
Recently, I have?developed??a bad habit, that of??watching TikTok-like videos at night, after??the kids?have gone??to bed. At that moment, I just want to do something to relax and forget about all the?inevitable?tiredness?I feel. If the?watching?time can be controlled?to??a certain amount of time, for example,??10 minutes, watching such videos is not harmful. The trouble is that,?watching short videos?can?make??people feel like only a few minutes have passed?and?so,?it is not a big?issue.?With such a thought, consequently,?it’s difficult to stop??watching the videos,?until very late at night.?It’s??not just me?who does this,?as?many adults are addicted to watching such short videos. This ?is not only time-consuming but also harmful to our health. I?have?tried a few ways to get rid of the habit but?so far,?failed. Now, I think it's time to ask for help from others, such as Brian. He can help me?to?switch on the mode which can deny access to the videos.
Sometimes, if we cannot get rid of bad habits, developing good habits that counteract them is another way?to?make progress.
The more good habits we have, the better?a?life we will lead.?
