Hi there, my name is Yan, I come from Nanjing, China, which is a beautiful city. I am currently a sophomore student majoring in Labor and Social Security.
I have a wide range of hobbies In my free time, such as programming, collecting vinyl records, DIY perfumes and photography. Although some of these interests might not seem typical for a guy, but I am indeed a male.
Recently, I've been trying cycling, fitness and other outdoor activities, which have been quite challenging for me who wasn't particularly fond of sports.
My primary intention here is to improve my English proficiency and I also have a strong desire to learn about different cultures and people from around the world.
In the past two months, I've discovered an intriguing research topic and begun writing a paper on it. Additionally, I've taken on the role of leading some less capable classmates in participating in school competitions. Amidst all these endeavors and hobbies, I've also found time to search for internships, aiming to enrich my resume with valuable experiences.
Despite my busy schedule, I've still managed to watch two movies. One is 《The Shining》, a classic horror film that excited me with its unique portrayal of psychological terror. The other is 《The Old Gods》, which I couldn't find in China but stumbled upon while using a VPN to explore movies on Rotten Tomatoes.
This Lovecraftian horror film has left me pondering deeply about the origins of human fear. I'm curious if you understand this kind of fear and would like to discuss your thoughts on it. Furthermore, I'd appreciate any recommendations for other great movies. (I've already watched all the top 100 films on Douban)
Certainly, my purpose here is not solely to seek movie recommendations. I have a deep appreciation for humanity and landscapes, and observing this world fills me with fulfillment.
If possible, I would like to get to know you better……your life, your studies, your hobbies, your habits, the scenery around you, and your perspective on the world.
Although I am currently a financially strapped college student, but I have a lifelong aspiration to travel the world (which I believe requires both hard work and financial stability). Therefore, in the future, I not only look forward to reading your letters, but also hope to meet you in person and witness the sceneries you describe. That would be truly romantic.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I hope you can help me see the different facets of this world. Take care and talk to you soon.
